KSTAR Physician Assistant Assessment

The KSTAR Physician Assistant Assessment is a two-day evaluation using multiple tools to determine clinician performance. Evaluations take place at the Texas A&M University College of Medicine Simulation Center. The testing is individualized and takes into consideration the clinician’s scope of practice including future career goals.

The testing tools used may include the following:

  • Standardized patients
  • Record review
  • Multiple choice testing (including pharmacotherapeutics)
  • Clinical interviews
  • Cognitive screening
  • Other testing as deemed appropriate

After you have completed the KSTAR Assessment, your performance will be evaluated by a panel of assessors who will examine all testing components. That panel will include a combination of physician assistants and physicians, all of who have experience in physician assistant evaluation and education.
