Ellen E. Martin, PhD, RN, CPHQ, CPPS

Biography

Dr. Ellen Martin is the Director of Clinical Safety Research at ARCHI. She provides leadership of patient safety activities for the A&M Rural and Community Institute Patient Safety Organization, a federally-listed PSO with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.  She received her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin, MSN from Queens University of Charlotte specializing in Health Systems Management, and completed her basic nursing education at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.  Prior to joining ARCHI, Dr. Martin was the Director of Practice at the Texas Nurses Association and Director of Clinical Practice and Regulatory Affairs at the Texas Association for Home Care and Hospice.  She has extensive experience in hospitals, community mental health, home health and hospice and holds certifications in healthcare quality and patient safety. She is passionate about improving outcomes and preventing harm for vulnerable and underserved populations.
